Cajun Garlic Butter Steak Bites

Cajun Garlic Butter Steak Bites are tender cubes of sirloin or ribeye steak, perfectly seared and coated in a bold Cajun spice blend, then drenched in a luscious garlic butter sauce. This quick, flavorful, and versatile dish is ideal for a speedy weeknight dinner, an impressive appetizer, or a protein-packed topping for salads and bowls.

Ingredients

Scale

Steak and Seasoning

  • 1 lb sirloin or ribeye steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning (paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, herbs)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Cooking Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

Garnish (Optional)

  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Steak: Cut the steak into 1-inch cubes to ensure even cooking. Pat them dry with paper towels for a nice sear. Toss the steak cubes in Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  2. Heat the Pan and Oil: Place a heavy skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Heat until hot but not smoking to help sear the steak quickly, locking in juices.
  3. Sear the Steak Bites: Add the steak cubes in a single layer without overcrowding the pan. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until a golden crust forms and the steak reaches your desired doneness. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  4. Make Garlic Butter Sauce: Lower heat to medium. Add butter to the same pan and let it melt. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant, taking care not to burn it. Return the steak bites to the pan and toss to coat evenly in the garlic butter sauce.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the steak bites for color and freshness. Serve immediately for the best juicy and buttery experience.

Notes

  • Use room temperature steak cubes for even cooking by letting them sit out for about 20 minutes before cooking.
  • Don’t overcrowd the pan; cook in batches if necessary to ensure a perfect sear instead of steaming.
  • Use fresh minced garlic instead of garlic powder for the richest flavor and aroma.
  • Let the steak bites rest for a few minutes after cooking to retain juicy tenderness.
  • Adjust seasoning after cooking by tasting and adding more Cajun seasoning or butter if desired.
