Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 24 mini Reese’s peanut butter cups
  • 24 hazelnuts or almonds (for caps)
  • Non-stick cooking spray or parchment paper (for lining)
  • Optional: Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Workspace: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly spray with non-stick cooking spray to prevent sticking and ease cleanup.
  2. Melt the Chocolate: Place milk chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth and fully melted. Avoid overheating.
  3. Dip the Peanut Butter Cups: Using a fork or toothpick, fully coat each mini peanut butter cup in the melted chocolate, letting excess drip back into the bowl.
  4. Add the Nut Caps: While the chocolate is still wet on top, gently press a hazelnut or almond onto each peanut butter cup to form the acorn’s cap.
  5. Let the Candy Acorns Set: Place the dipped cups on the prepared sheet and refrigerate for 15-20 minutes until the chocolate hardens completely.

Notes

  • Use high-quality chocolate for better melting and richer flavor.
  • Make sure peanut butter cups are at room temperature to prevent chocolate from seizing.
  • Work quickly as chocolate hardens fast; have nuts ready to press on immediately.
  • Store in a cool, dry place to avoid melting or chocolate bloom.
  • For thicker coating, double dip allowing the first coat to harden before the second.
