Christmas Marshmallow Pops

Christmas Marshmallow Pops are a quick, easy, and festive treat perfect for holiday celebrations. Featuring soft marshmallows dipped in smooth chocolate and decorated with colorful sprinkles and edible decorations, these pops are customizable, kid-friendly, and require no baking. They make wonderful edible gifts, party centerpieces, or a fun holiday activity for the whole family.

Ingredients

Base

  • Large Marshmallows

Coating

  • Chocolate Chips or Melting Wafers
  • Optional Food Coloring (for tinting white chocolate)

Decorations

  • Sprinkles and Edible Decorations (reds, greens, whites, holiday-themed shapes)

Tools

  • Lollipop Sticks or Wooden Skewers

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Workspace: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat for placing finished pops to dry. Set out all ingredients and equipment including lollipop sticks, bowls for melting chocolate, and your decorations.
  2. Insert Sticks into Marshmallows: Carefully push a lollipop stick into the center of each marshmallow about halfway through to ensure they hold securely, making them easy to dip and decorate.
  3. Melt the Chocolate: Gently melt chocolate chips or melting wafers in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-second intervals, stirring between each until smooth, creamy, and lump-free.
  4. Dip the Marshmallow Pops: Holding the stick, dip each marshmallow fully or partially into the melted chocolate, allowing excess to drip off, creating a smooth, even coating ready for toppings.
  5. Decorate Your Pops: While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle your choice of festive sprinkles, crushed candies, or edible glitter on each pop. Feel free to be creative or traditional.
  6. Allow Pops to Set: Place the dipped and decorated pops onto the prepared baking sheet and refrigerate for 15–20 minutes or until the chocolate hardens completely.

Notes

  • Use room temperature marshmallows to help chocolate stick better and prevent condensation.
  • Work quickly while dipping to keep the chocolate coating glossy since it hardens fast.
  • Add a teaspoon of coconut or vegetable oil to melted chocolate for a smoother and shinier finish.
  • Use high-quality chocolate for richer flavor and better texture.
  • Wrap finished pops individually in cellophane and tie with ribbon for charming gift presentation.
