Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook your pasta until al dente, typically 8-10 minutes depending on the type. Drain and set aside, reserving some pasta water for later.
  2. Sauté the Shrimp: Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the shrimp, seasoning lightly with salt and pepper, and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  3. Prepare the Garlic Cream Sauce: In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté briefly until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Pour in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in grated Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce has thickened slightly.
  4. Combine Pasta and Shrimp: Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet, and add the drained pasta. Toss everything together, using reserved pasta water a little at a time to loosen the sauce if needed until perfectly creamy and coated.
  5. Finish and Serve: Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and an extra sprinkle of Parmesan. Serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.
