Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate & Binders

  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips or chunks (70% cocoa or higher)
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil or nut butter (almond butter or tahini for vegan option)

Nuts & Sweeteners

  • 1 cup mixed nuts (almonds, walnuts, cashews, pecans, or any preferred combination)
  • 3 tablespoons raw honey or maple syrup

Toppings

  • Sea salt flakes, pinch (to sprinkle on top)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Ingredients: Chop the selected nuts into bite-sized pieces and gather all other ingredients to streamline the process.
  2. Melt the Chocolate and Binder: Gently melt the dark chocolate and coconut oil or nut butter together using a double boiler or microwave, stirring frequently until smooth and glossy.
  3. Combine Nuts and Sweetener: In a mixing bowl, toss the chopped nuts with raw honey or maple syrup until evenly coated and sticky enough to hold together.
  4. Mix Everything Together: Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the nut and sweetener blend, folding gently with a spatula until every nut is fully coated in chocolate.
  5. Press Into a Pan and Sprinkle Sea Salt: Transfer the mixture into a lined baking pan, pressing firmly and evenly to compact the bars, then sprinkle sea salt flakes on top.
  6. Chill and Cut: Refrigerate for at least two hours until fully set, then slice into bars or squares for ready-to-eat snacks.

Notes

  • Lightly toast nuts before chopping to enhance flavor and crunch.
  • Press the mixture firmly in the pan to prevent crumbling upon cutting.
  • Ensure adequate chilling time to achieve firm bars.
  • Start with a small amount of sea salt and adjust to taste for balance.
  • Customize by swapping nuts, adding dried fruits, seeds, or spices as desired.
  • Store bars in an airtight container at room temperature or refrigerated for up to two weeks.
  • Bars freeze well when wrapped individually in freezer-safe bags, lasting up to three months.
  • Warm bars gently in the microwave for softer texture if preferred.
