Instructions

  1. Prepare the Custard Mixture: In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until thoroughly combined to create the custard that will soak into the bread.
  2. Cut the Bread into Sticks: Slice each thick piece of bread into approximately 1-inch wide sticks to ensure even cooking and maintaining softness inside.
  3. Soak the Bread Sticks: Dip each bread stick into the custard mixture, soaking for about 20-30 seconds per side. Avoid over-soaking to prevent sogginess while ensuring flavor absorption.
  4. Heat the Pan and Fry: Warm butter or oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Place the soaked bread sticks carefully in the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, turning gently, until all sides are golden brown and crispy.
  5. Drain and Serve Warm: Remove the cooked French Toast Sticks and lay them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve immediately with your choice of toppings or dips.
