Ingredients

Scale

Steak

  • 8 oz sirloin or ribeye steak

Pasta

  • 8 oz fettuccine pasta

Sauce

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, freshly minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Seasoning & Garnish

  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare and Cook the Fettuccine: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add fettuccine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 10 to 12 minutes. Drain the pasta, reserving 1 cup of pasta water, and set aside.
  2. Sear the Steak: While pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season steak with salt and pepper on both sides. Sear steak for 3–4 minutes per side, adjusting time based on thickness and desired doneness. Remove steak from skillet and let rest before slicing thinly against the grain.
  3. Make the Garlic Butter Sauce: Reduce heat to medium. Add butter and minced garlic to the same skillet. Stir garlic until fragrant and golden, about 1–2 minutes, ensuring it does not burn to keep flavor mellow.
  4. Combine Pasta and Steak: Add cooked fettuccine to the skillet with garlic butter sauce, tossing to coat. Gradually add reserved pasta water as needed to loosen the sauce. Fold in sliced steak and sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese. Mix gently to combine.
  5. Final Touches: Season with additional salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve immediately while warm and creamy.

Notes

  • Let the steak rest before slicing to retain juiciness and tenderness.
  • Cook pasta to al dente for perfect texture when mixed with sauce.
  • Use fresh garlic for best flavor impact.
  • Reserve pasta water to help bind the sauce and pasta together.
  • Slice steak against the grain to ensure tenderness.
