Ingredients

Scale

Eggs and Base Ingredients

  • 12 hard-boiled eggs
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup softened cream cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Toppings and Garnishes

  • 2 tablespoons crispy bacon bits (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped chives or green onions
  • Optional: paprika or smoked paprika for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Hard-boil the eggs: Place whole eggs in a single layer in a saucepan and cover them with cold water by about an inch. Bring the water to a boil, then cover and remove from heat. Let them sit for 12 minutes before transferring to an ice bath to cool completely.
  2. Prepare the filling: Peel the cooled eggs and carefully slice them in half lengthwise. Scoop out the yolks into a bowl. Add mayonnaise, softened cream cheese, Dijon mustard, sweet pickle relish, apple cider vinegar, salt, and pepper. Mash and mix everything together until smooth and creamy.
  3. Fill the egg whites: Using a spoon or a piping bag, fill the hollowed-out egg whites with the yolk mixture, distributing it evenly and neatly for the best presentation.
  4. Add toppings: Sprinkle crispy bacon bits and finely chopped chives or green onions on top for flavor, texture, and a pop of color that really makes these deviled eggs stand out. Optionally, add a light sprinkle of paprika or smoked paprika for added depth and visual appeal.

Notes

  • Use an ice bath after boiling eggs to make peeling easier and prevent overcooking.
  • Soften the cream cheese before mixing to achieve a smooth, creamy filling.
  • For an elegant presentation, use a piping bag with a star tip to fill the egg whites.
  • Taste the yolk mixture before filling to adjust seasoning and acidity to your liking.
  • Add garnishes just before serving to keep them crisp and fresh.
  • Store deviled eggs in an airtight container in the fridge and consume within 2 days.
  • Freezing deviled eggs is not recommended as it affects texture and taste negatively.
  • Serve deviled eggs cold or at room temperature; avoid microwaving to maintain creamy texture.
